A Further Experiment
I've tried a little blogging on the social networking sites Multiply, Yahoo 360 and Wallop. (Sadly orkut has yet to incorporate such a feature.) This, however, will be my first use of a "purpose built" blog.
Expect comments from a socialist perspective on the UK General Election and current affairs in general, as well as lighter stuff about listening, reading and behind-the-scenes accounts of my work as a journalist.
I shall try to keep it up to date, time permitting.

I too have a "purpose built" blog and it's taken me a while to get the hang of writing casually when the platform almost makes it seem like a podium. Sites that offer blogging such as yahoo or tribe.net seem to foment a live journal type feel.
Thanks, Eric. I shall have to have a look at tribe.net .
What's needed (by me, at least) is a more flexible blog that allows
(a) Personalisation, with the ability to change colours and fonts, upload sound and image files and generally create a fully functioning homepage (but without the need to learn HTML), and
(b) Interaction, such as may be enjoyed in orkut's excellent "Communities".
The day will come, I'm sure.
